Bridges of Peace
Summer Camp 2007

A group of educators and professional is offering a summer camp for kids ages 9 to 12 from all backgrounds and religions. Our vision is to bring 20 children together for a week of fun activities that will be focused on Art, Nature, Body movements, Beauty of Mathematics, Swimming and will respect the beauty and uniqueness of each child. We envision Arab, Israeli and children from other nations sharing time together and experiencing the common ground of all human beings.

Among the activities we plan to offer are:

We believe in the uniqueness of each child and so children will be able to choose between different activities. For example kids who are more interested on Mathematics could focus on that. Based on our past experience we know how to create an environment where every child will feel safe and comfortable and new friendships will develop.

Our intention for each of the two sessions is to pick 10 Israeli kids (Arab and Jewish) and 10 non Israeli kids (including Jewish and Arab kids from West Bank and the Gaza strip). We plan to have two sessions:

Session I: July 23-27 in Daliyat El Carmel                    Session II: July 30 - August 3rd in Ein Karem, Jerusalem.

We encourage parents to volunteer. List of teachers: http://www.bridgesofpeace.org/bridges/summer_camp_2007/biographies/
